Edy Levin

edy-levin-bioEdy Pickens Levin began her artistic journey in South Carolina where she was influenced by her grandmother, a prolific artist, and her mother, a gifted pianist. After she received a B.A. in studio art from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia and an M.F.A. in painting from Indiana University, Edy moved to Los Angeles, where she began teaching at Brentwood School. For the past decade, Edy has been developing an interdisciplinary style that expresses a pantheistic empathy with nature and, more specifically, an impassioned connection to horses and rural landscapes. She often finds herself reconciling the differences and highlighting the similarities between her rural Southern roots and the metropolitan behemoth she now calls home.
